Quite interesting to see the teams that aren’t around any more. Grand Rapids Baptist became NorthPointe Christian. Both Detroit Benedictine and Detroit Holy Redeemer. Old Redford Academy occupies the old Benedictine building and although the Holy Redeemer Parish is still in operation, Detroit Cristo Rey is now the school at the corner of Junction and Vernor. Our Lady of Mount Carmel closed a few years later in 2011, another example of the shrinking enrollment of Metro Detroit Catholic schools.
Peering through some of the names, I notice Tarn Leach, who later ran for Michigan and recently competed in the 2024 Olympic Trials Marathon. Winner Will Boylan-Pett went onto run for Columbia.
