Abby busted onto the scene in early 2018 with a mind-blowing 17:05 at Orchard View and has been on a tear ever since
Twice an XC State Champion, twice FootLocker qualifier, twice finishing 3rd in the nation, and a FLMW winner (and only halfway through her career)
Her 2019 season hit a bit of a lull with some iron issues, but that didn’t affect her winning ways, as she was defeated only once, on a hot day at Spartan
She competed in Arizona’s Desert Dream a few weeks ago, emerging as the 3200m victor, running 10:02 for 3200m
And also ran 4:49.6 for a full mile the night prior (~4:47.9 1600m)
Nathan may end up being the best runner to come through the storied Fremont program
He’s been very accomplished already, racking up 3 All-State honors (twice in the top-5) and 2 Regional titles
His freshman and sophomore years were very good by any standard, but he’s continued to make progress
He finally had a breakthrough in terms of time, running 15:07 at Portage, and a few weeks later, breaking 15:00 at Benzie
And apparently has gone 14:50 already this summer
Continued his peak into November, qualifying for FootLocker (and in the process, beat 2 of the 3 guys that bested him at MIS), then finishing 28th at Nationals
Riley had a sensational freshman year in 2018, finishing All-State and breaking 16:00 late in October
In terms of progress, that doesn’t always carry over to the next year, but he was able to drop significant time
And given that, we can expect to see more development
Riley was able to lower his PR from 15:39 to 15:09 (on Portage, a legitimately fair track)
He’s been the lead guy on Hartland for a few years now, a team looking to bust into the top-10 at MIS
He’s been very accomplished, especially in the championship season, racking up All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State honors in each of his first two years in high school
2. Audrey DaDamio, Birmingham Seaholm
Audrey has been on the track to greatness since her freshman year
She showed her potential early, nearly breaking 19:00 that year, and has been steadily improving since
That improvement culminated with a 18th place finish at FootLocker this past fall
She’s one of three returning FootLocker qualifiers (I think you can guess who the top boys and girls are)
Her season in Michigan wasn’t too shabby either – Oakland County Champ, OAA Red Champ, All-State, and numerous sub-18 performances
She continued that improvement into the 2020 indoor season, setting PRs in both the 1600m and 3200m (4:52/10:24)
