Grand Rapids may lack the star power on the individual side, at least this year. We all know the history of Ritz, the Rockford dynasty, the burgeoning East Grand Rapids dynasty. The running culture undoubtedly has a pull on the Holland, Muskegon, and Kalamazoo areas as well. I’m in awe of the sheer size of some of these teams, especially schools such as Covenant Christian. Results show they had at least 60 boys and girls on their teams last year, but their enrollment total is around 400. Almost 15% of the school participating in our great sport.
