The Rundown

There’s a reason I picked Katie for the ol’ Hansons team at MITCA this past November. She’s unheralded (but not for long), improved as the season came along, and due for some pretty great accomplishments in the future. However, instead of waiting for the future, she decided to grab a bunch of honors during track. She took home some championships, such as Region 11 and Northern Michigan. She stepped on the podium thanks to her 3rd place finish in the 3200m at Forest Hills Eastern. And she showed tremendous strength, running a personal best in the 1600m at State, then recovering in the heat and coming back hours later to nearly set another personal best in the 3200m. At the end of the day, her 11:08 in the eight lap event ranked 3rd amongst all freshmen girls in Michigan. I can’t wait to see her take that championship-ridden season and bring it to grass.
