The Rundown
You may not know this, but I do! Romeo’s Bulldog women finished second as a team last year. Why? When you have girls such as Violet running one of the better races of their season, that’s why. She had already been sub-19 earlier in the year, running an 18:34 at Jackson, but many of her efforts throughout the season were above the 19-min. mark. Her 18:53 was one of three Romeo girls to obtain all-state. Violet herself moved up from the 54th place she managed as a freshman, and we saw those same gains during track. She dropped 10 seconds in the 1600m, 20 in the 3200m, and if the trends continue, look for more red on that Brooklyn podium.
