The Rundown

What’s with these West Side kids and their ability to turn it up a notch late in their sophomore year? Just as Seth Conner, Henry underwent a late season rise that propelled him into a stunning track season. Henry’s was a bit more subdued in the fall, but dang was he consistent toward the end. After staying in the 17’s-18’s for his freshman year, Henry opened with a 16:58, surely the consequence of FHE’s robust off-season training and culture. He stayed there for much of the year, then turned in his best three race stretch of the year to close, running in the 16:25 range at Region 12, MIS, and MITCA. Again, as Seth did, track was a continuation of that late season surge. For Henry, it was more concentrated on the longer distances. His 9:20 at Shepherd gave him the #2 rank amongst all 9th/10th graders. A month later, his 9:31 in the heat gave him his first All-State ever.
