The Rundown

I have to be honest; I don’t know too much about Nate! But I guess that’s what happens when you evolve quickly, from a kid hovering near 17-flat to one that’s a mainstay in the 15’s. In total, Nate threw down sub-16 efforts on five separate occasions last fall, early on at DeWitt and at home, then following a 23rd place at State, ripped a 15:38 at Shepherd.

There was one low spot in his season – Greater Lansing, where 11th wasn’t up to his ’22 standard. Come spring, he more than made up for it, doubling the 1600m and 3200m there, winning both, setting a personal best in the 1600m. He may be underrated by some, but not me, for I was witness to his 9:13 at Davison. Like I’ve said with a few before, I think attending that meet as an athlete spoke volumes about those athletes. First, you’re on the ground floor of what could become a memorable tradition in Michigan. And second, you want to right the wrongs of what may have happened in your final weeks, which Nate resoundingly accomplished. I think he has a bit of revenge towards MIS, and given how Davison went, ooooh I’m ready to see what he’s got.
