Best Jump Crews: Boys League Week

It’s here, it’s here! The schedule varies between leagues, areas, and teams, but this second week of May kicks off championship season for many. And in 10-11 days, for many, the most important meet of the year will come. Best of luck to all as we approach those days.

Week Three Rankings
Week Five Rankings

The explanation from 2023 is spot on, so click here if you want to read the recipe for how these are created.

Here are the figures that show the points for each mark:

BOYS TABLES

GIRLS TABLES

These contain results uploaded to athletic.net by 9AM Tuesday (5/7).

If you’d like to delve more into how individual performances relate in a historical sense, please subscribe to Jeff Hollobaugh’s MichTrack Newsletter. Jeff always does an excellent job of recapping our athletes and their individual greatness, along with providing stories and thoughtful anecdotes. These rankings attempt to capture the here and now, but it’s tough for me to do this and shoutout to the great individual marks. So check out the newsletter and learn more about the superb athletes from our state.

Have you noticed that I’m copy/pasting the same intro each time? Well I haven’t had any complaints just yet…

Top Individuals – Best Jump

Thought I’d throw this in here for additional flavor. Using the tables which convert a jump from each event into points, then comparing the two events, the best jumps of the year thus far:

Andrew Harding, Ann Arbor Huron – 6′ 10″ High Jump, 518 points (Michigan #1, US #17)
Nathan Levine, Canton – 6′ 10″ High Jump, 518 points (Michigan #1, US #17)
Quincy Isaac, Canton – 24′ 0.75″ Long Jump, 510 points (Michigan #1, US #28)

Top Individuals – Combined

And this here takes both jumps into account. For the athletes who have competed in both the high & long jump and hit qualifying marks in each, these are the athletes with the highest amount of points from the two events.

Charlie Garner, Ann Arbor Huron – 23′ 10.25″ Long Jump (Michigan #2), 6′ 8″ High Jump (Michigan #4)
Quincy Isaac, Canton – 24′ 0.75 Long Jump (Michigan #1), 6′ 6″ High Jump (Michigan #10)
Jayden Brock, Byron Center – 6′ 8″ High Jump (Michigan #4), 23′ 1.5″ Long Jump (Michigan #5)
