The Rundown

You may have noticed, you may have not, but Ludington has been a team on the rise. 19th in 2022, Region 10’s defending champion, and the 7th place D2 team from this past year. The Browers have played a role in that, Theis and Grierson too, and the latest major contributor has been Annabelle.

Coming into HS, there was a chance those contributions would come, but it wasn’t a certainty, as she stayed above 12 in her 8th grade year. Early in the season, it appeared she’d be a solid member of the Oriole squad, hitting a few sub-20’s in major invites. When championships were on the line, Lowman found her best efforts, each one better than the rest. In a month’s time, a 19:46 personal best became a 18:07. Her “worst” finish was 18th at the MITCA meet, only comprised of the best runners of all divisions. Silvers at WMC Mega and Region 10, 14th in D2, a penchant for pressure-filled racing was evident. That was only doubled down upon during track.

There will be more big-time races for the Orioles and I think we know Annabelle will give us her best material.
