The Rundown

2023’s Ticket (29) spoke to Kyle establishing himself as one of the state’s better freshmen that year, then admired his ability to hang with the state’s best in the D1 3200m.

Kyle’s freshman version of XC stayed above 16:00 while running a bunch of tough courses. The sophomore one competed on the same hilly tracks and turned into sub-16 equivalents each time out. Wins came at Averill, Linden, the LVC, and a Regional at home. Then when it was time to kick it up a degree, Kyle did just that, racing to 15:22 at State and 15:17 at MITCA. Those speedy efforts led to a Milford class record (beating out former State Champion, Brian Kettle) and leaving him 4th all-time in Milford history.

To make it three straight seasons of hanging with the state’s best, Kyle stuck his nose in there at another State Final 3200m. His 9:10 earned him a 6th place finish, set another Milford sophomore record, and left him #2 of all-time in the school’s record books.

When you’re etching your name on Milford’s legendary lists, you’ve gotta have a great path ahead of you.
