PARTIED HARD

Allie Nowak, Johannesburg-Lewiston

The Cardinals aren’t running too many races this year, so she’s gotta take cracks at that school record in every race. Well, one race and a personal best and a school record. And it was only her debut. We know Coach Marcum’s runners improve as the season wears on, so we’ll be excited to see what she can throw down at Shepherd and Portage.

Gabe Litzner, Sault Ste. Marie

In the above clip, Gabe and his father detail his harrowing experience from this past winter, a driver hitting him while out on a run. Fractured skull and vertebrae, lacerations, blood cuts, internal organ lacerations, collapsed lung. Following a month off and a gradual return to fitness, he earned a 2nd place in the UP D1 1600m and a victory in the 3200m. Now mixing it up with the Lower Peninsula’s best, two sub-16 efforts and two wins. Gabe and his Blue Devil teammates will be at Holly and Jackson, where many will be excited to see what he can throw down while pushed.
