CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON HAS ARRIVED
Take a look back at the Wayne County projections. Who’d have thought that Franklin would claim the top spot? Senior Ava Peters has been on her way back. She was greatly helped by freshman Lucy Morrow, who dropped her 2nd straight PR and is a far cry from the girl running in the 22’s to begin the year.
Shoutout to winners Kaelin Hughes and Aiden Pengelly, both County champs for the first time ever.
I know it’s been a busy three week stretch for Churchill – Jackson, Shepherd, and now at Willow. Had to be a huge help to have an experienced team, the kind of folks who know how to manage stress, school, and train with an end of season purpose in mind. Five of the seven Charger varsity athletes are seniors and I’m happy they won the County title.
Also, Plymouth’s boys are coming. The Wildcats received some assistance from Ben Mussen, who raced to a significant season’s best.
