MIXCSR VS. REALITY

Channeled my inner Gavin Marr and correctly predicted the D4 region. Channeled something else in the D3 region, which missed out on Pigeon-Laker’s Boys and Sanford-Meridian’s Girls. Four regions to go, 176 of 192.

The Mustangs were given a 28% chance to make it another week. Already in a good spot through four girls, Melodie Nagel sealed in the fifth scoring spot, her 23:05 beating her best time of the year by >30 seconds.

The Lakers were given even less of a chance, less than 5%. There were many listed teams between 1-5%, if you add enough up, you’re eventually gonna come up with a great chance that someone comes through. In this instance, it was the top-four Laker boys hitting lifetime bests, all seven running the fastest they had all year.

They’re already dominant now, just watch in the coming years for a potential podium spot. Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart’s 26-point effort was accomplished by all underclassmen. While we’re looking at underclassmen, Merrill’s young Dilyn Colpean showed no awe of the regional stage. Coming in 11^th place, she placed 10 spots ahead of her projection, notching her 5^th consecutive sub-23.
