Top Returners

Jessica Jazwinski

Another one of those ultimate low sticks. For Hart in 2022, she won all but one of her races, that being in early September. Come championship season, undefeated, leading her Pirates to a regional title and fourth place finish in Division 3.

Alyson Enns

2022 season wasn’t as quick as some of the others. And when I say that, I only mean it was her 3rd straight year reaching into the 17’s. She’s picked 3 consecutive top-5 finishes down south at MIS.

Lexie Beth Nienhuis

When she’s not pole vaultin’ or hittin’ the mid-distance hard, she’s running quality cross races, placing 4th in the WMC each of the past two years.

Kenai Kokx

Late season surge and ability to perform on a large stable enabled the Pirates to secure another top finish. High-20’s and low-21’s for much of championship season.

Lauren Pretty

In 2021, didn’t even participate on the Pirates late season championship squad. In 2022, was the 6th girl, displacing many in Region 20 en route to their regional win.

Brooklyn Carter

Sophomore season ended prematurely, but still accomplished another year of getting into the 21’s.

Lilly Hopkins

Along with her sophomore improvements in cross, added a foot to her pole vaults, enough to place 11th in D3.

The Rundown

Patience and domination have been the theme of Tyler’s career. Patience, knowing that an injury during his junior XC season was just a bump in the road, that by recovering and coming back stronger that he’d have a whirl of a track season. Patience early in his career, running a bevy of 19-20 min. races, turning into a kid who set the school record early last fall. Patience in the first few laps of Division 4’s 1600m, waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Then casting the final, dominating move to ensure victory. And finally, patience this summer, knowing huge goals await in these upcoming months…

The Rundown

Way back as a freshman, it took a bit of time for her to get adjusted. But ever since that point, it’s been game on. Lila’s late season run back in 2021 was a major factor behind Kent City’s surge towards 2nd in the State. She blasted an 18:57 at Shepherd, placed 2nd in a series of championship meets, before closing with a 14th place finish. Her 2022 followed a similar trajectory, perhaps even more aggressively, with all but one of her final 10 races being of the sub-19 variety. She etched her name in Kent City lore with an 18:03 and a win over in Region 21, then repeated her same clutch performance with a 5th place at MIS. There are some ringers in Division 3, but Lila has shown time and time again that she’s unafraid of any moment.
