Grass Lake’s girls team had been on their way to a special season. They were dominating the Cascades Conference and were the first to break Hanover-Horton’s dual meet win streak (that was apparently over 20 years long). Unfortunately, three of their top seven had to sit out the conference meet, resulting in a share of the crown. Assuming their crew makes it through here, they’ll run with a bit of extra fire come Regionals.

I wonder if they could have split up this region a bit better? Detroit Osborn and East English appear to have full teams, which makes for 5 in the boys race. But in the other Pre-Regional, there’s at least 8 full squads. Perhaps someone at MHSAA can read this and hire me to research these next year.
