Final Ratings 2020 – Girls
In past years, I’ve used two methods to give out a final rating. Overall, using all the meets in a season and championship, meets from October on. Both of these are weighted towards meets at the end of the year. Between those two, I’d take the higher one.
Based on the Hobbs Kessler Rule (understanding that in 2020, top athletes won’t run all out each and every meet), I changed things up a bit. For the entirety of the season, I used the top half of a runner’s races to determine their overall rating. With a bit more time on my hands, I calculated the overall and championship (actually used this to draft those winning teams in the MITCA race) ones as well. For the final rating, I’m choosing the highest of the three.
MITCA Ratings
Boys Adjustment: +6
Girls Adjustment: +16
The boys races were a bit cold and windy, the girls races were ideal conditions. Freeland was just as fast and fair as you’d expect Shepherd to run.
