I had a novel thought while running the other day. What if, instead of averaging the top 5, which overrates teams with a great 1st (or 2nd) runner, I just scored out a hypothetical meet with the teams in each division/the whole state. And used that to determine rankings. I had been playing around with weighing the latter runners more, finding out the average 5th runner, etc. But nothing was coming up as more predictive than a hypothetical meet. So here you go:
