2022’s Best Sprint Crews

Our most expansive category are the sprints. 100m through 400m, 4x100m through 4x400m. Six events which really separate the wheat from the chaff, the men from the boys, and the Renaissance Phoenix from any other crew of girls.

Just to recap, these rankings and these scores are my attempt to compare across events. Based on the top United States HS athletes from 2022, I created my own version of World Athletics scores. These scores are based on historical data and compare across the wide range of track events, same as mine attempt to do.

Here are the BOYS SCORES and GIRLS SCORES.

The way the scoring works is this:

1. An athlete produces a time/mark that is better than the additional qualifier for Regionals (or the equivalent for relays).
2. For each team in each event, the four highest scores (or lower, depending on how many hit the mark) are added together.
3. Within each event area, those event scores are added together and ranked from highest to lowest.
4. For the relays, the scores are scaled to match the scoring total of the individual events.
