2022 Ratings: St. Joseph

Slow drip on these until the bigger meets start rolling in this weekend. We did get a little preview of Otsego’s boys and girls, also appears that St. Joseph added Gail Vaikutis, who stood out in track for the Bears.

ST. JOSEPH STANDOUTS

Colin Wesseldyk, Otsego: Colin is a kid that’s been on my radar forever. He entered high school as a middle school sensation, winning all kinds of races, breaking 11:00 along the way. For the Bulldogs, he’s been a part of their little dynasty, contributing to multiple top-5 and state championship teams. This is about as good of a debut that Colin has had. A personal best, well under 17:00, and looking to be the lead runner on an Otsego squad primed for another run.

Jade Murdoch, St. Joseph: Another big personal best in August. Her previous best had been 22:15, attained early last year, but the majority of her races in 2021 were 23:00+. With Jade and Grace entering the Bears top seven, they suddenly move up the Division 2 ranks. But before we worry about October and November, let’s celebrate the fact that Jade ran 3:40 faster here compared to last August.
