The Course: Absolutely love this course. Great for spectators, adore the cute wooden course map, and it’s a fast one for runners. Tight turns, rolling, but gradual downhills. About as fair as you’ll get, though my guess is it’s a bit fast compared to other courses this weekend.

What to Watch For: Lumen Christi’s run toward a state championship. As always, it will depend on their 3rd-7th runners. They think they have a shot and that’s half the battle.

Four teams vying for three spots on the boys side. Bronson and Hudson are more loaded in the back end, Lumen Christi and Hanover-Horton the opposite.

Jacob Walker vs. Rogan Melling. Walker got him at the line at Chris Jensen, Melling won decisively at Jackson. Which is a better indicator, a close victory last week or 10 seconds a month ago?

Leslie and Grass Lake’s girls. They should be equal through 3 girls. Comes down to who wants it more.

What to Watch For: Concord vs. Hillsdale Academy. Hillsdale opened the season with a statement at Holly, Concord returned the favor at Portage. Hillsdale added an 8th grader last week for some depth, but Concord continues to close in. The Yellowjackets are projected to win here, but may dip a little lower at MIS unless a 5th runner emerges. Izzy Freakin’ Brooks took charge over at the Lenawee County Championship to procure her first ever win. We love those championship moments. Can she repeat the feat here at Regionals?

Where: Chandler Park Golf Course, Detroit.

The Course: The past few years, has run about 30-40 seconds fast. I’ve heard through the grapevine that they’re changing the course to avoid some standing water. Now does changing the course make it shorter or longer? Faster or slower? I guess we’ll find out.

What to Watch For: Haley Deighan’s return. Okay, I know this is a bit of pressure going straight to an individual. So is returning with three races to go, your first race back being a championship race in one of Michigan’s tougher conferences. Clintonwood normally runs fast, but 18:53 is still legit. Without her, Fraser was hoping to sneak in, right now it appears Seaholm is a lock. The boys look to be set, both Troy and Royal Oak have found young talent while Grosse Pointe South has been waiting to stick it to North for a few years. Somehow though, Bob Stark’s magic might arise. Every year he has something up his sleeve.
