Where: Delta College. I’m a big map guy. Name an area of the state and I’ve probably been there and my recollection of the Delta College area is FLAT. Once again, another regional that seems to run fast. The 2020 Region in this area was at White Pine and I’m having trouble (read: it’s late and I don’t want to search) finding ratings from 2019.

  • Liam shares a common thread with a few of the past boys that I’ve covered – not on my radar for much of 2020.
  • What this means though is that he improved a ton in the past year
  • This can manifest in many ways: first time qualifying for State, a 55 second drop at Greater Lansing, medaling in his conference track meet, or another 55 second PB in the 3200m.
  • He must have put in work this past winter, as his 9:37 indicates he likely has sub-16 in him
  • Should be in contention for the Greater Lansing crown with one other runner to be named later

  • Allison has accomplished pretty much any feat you name
  • Won a race?  Ottawa Hills Invite.  All-State?  Twice.  Broken 19:00?  TWELVE times.
  • She really blossomed at the end of her freshman year, finishing in the low 18’s after much of the season spent above 19:00
  • That tremendous peak led to a 21st place finish at D1 State
  • Her time wasn’t as quick this time around, but she competed and placed 5 spots higher
  • The spring saw her first track action, where Allison displayed some mid-distance ability, getting below 5:15 in the 1600m a few times (and I bet she can pop a good 800m in the right race)

Where: Algonac HS. This regional has been at Goodells the past two years, but in the past, this tends to run 15-20 seconds FAST. Flat, goes through the woods for a bit, finishes on the track. Watch out for muskrats.
